Winn Reading Receives Grant from Ohio Children's Foundation to Provide Literacy Backpacks for Kindergarten Families

Cincinnati, Ohio - May 24th 2024– Winn Reading is proud to announce that we have been awarded a generous grant from the Ohio Children's Foundation. This funding will be used to create and distribute literacy backpacks to Kindergarten students and their families, specifically targeting five underserved schools within the Cincinnati Public Schools (CPS) district.

The literacy backpacks are designed to encourage reading at home, providing families with essential resources to support their child's early literacy development. Each backpack will include a parent guide filled with tips on reading with children, an "I Spy Letters" book, alphabet sound/letter cards, a draw-and-write journal, pencils, and a writing letter formation chart.
